101 Goals for 1,001 Days – Spring 2025 Update 1st 100 days

This update is a bit overdue, but a lot has happened since the last check-in, and I wanted to share the progress I’ve made on several of my goals.

First off, I hit another birthday recently — always a milestone worth celebrating. On top of that, I’ve been fortunate to have a life-enriching woman in my life. We’ve been able to travel a bit and enjoy meaningful time together, checking off both small moments and larger experiences.

As far as specific goals go, here’s a quick rundown of recent progress:

Von Maur Charge Card: I got approved for one. It’s interest-free and while I’m not sure how often I’ll use it, it’s good to have for flexibility and emergency purchases.

Magazine 2600 Lifetime Membership: This one was a long-time goal. As someone who appreciates hacker culture and digital rights, it feels good to support a publication I’ve followed for years.

Friends of the Marion Public Library (Lifetime Membership): Another step toward supporting my local institutions. Libraries have played a huge role in my life, and this membership aligns with both civic and personal values.

Hostelling International Membership: This opens up more affordable and adventurous travel opportunities. It's nice to know there are more flexible and community-driven lodging options as I explore more places.

PaperKarma Subscription: I signed up to cut down on junk mail and reduce waste. It’s a small but satisfying change toward a more minimalist and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Donation to Better Ballot Iowa: I supported the cause for ranked choice voting in our state. Electoral reform is important to me, and I’m glad to back organizations pushing for better representation in Iowa.

Each of these steps brings me closer to making my full list a reality. Some are small checkmarks; others are more meaningful investments in how I want to live.

More updates to come as I keep checking things off. Thanks for following along on the journey.
